Thanksgiving may have come and gone but this pumpkin pie smoothie is something you can enjoy all season long. Recipe and details below.

We drink a lot of smoothies in our house. They are a great way to get a serving of fruit and vegetables, but every now and then you just want one as a treat. And so we figured we needed a smoothie recipe that was just a tip of the cap to the holiday season and the accompanying pumpkin obsession. There are other traditional holiday flavors, and a turkey and cranberry smoothie might be interesting, but we decided a pumpkin pie smoothie sounded delicious and would be a great holiday drink with dessert-like qualities.
Pumpkin pie, after all, is one of our favorite parts of the Thanksgiving holiday. Turkey? Absolutely, a must. Mashed potatoes? Yup, gotta have those. Cranberries? Sure, why not. But at the end of the day, we still get the most excited about dessert. And there is no more traditional Thanksgiving dessert than pumpkin pie. Preferably topped with homemade whipped cream.
Making this smoothie was really easy. After making our vegan pumpkin french toast, I decided the liquid mixture would be perfect for a smoothie. Just add a frozen banana! So good! And healthy. We buy tons of bananas on a regular basis and always end up with a couple really ripe ones that no one will eat plain. Sometimes we make our favorite banana bread, but sometimes we just break the bananas into quarters and throw them in a ziplock bag and into the freezer they go. We then use them in smoothies like our coffee cacao smoothie or to make nice cream.
